Enola Holmes
Enola Holmes If, like me, you are a fan of juvenile novels, the detective genre and period stories, the new Netflix proposal Enola Holmes will not disappoint you. The film, which was released this September 23, adapts for the screen the first book of the series The Adventures of Enola Holmes by Nancy Springer and is set in London at the end of the 19th century.
Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things plays Enola, a precocious teenager who, on her 16th birthday, must face the disappearance of her mother, Eudoria. The Crown’s Helena Bonham Carter plays Eudoria, an independent soul who has raised her daughter to read William Shakespeare, William Makepeace Thackeray, and the essays of feminist Mary Wollstonecraft. In addition to insisting on the importance of learning martial arts.
Enola’s adult brothers, Mycroft (Sam Claflin) and Sherlock (Henry Cavill from The Witcher), will try to find out what happened to Eudoria and get Enola to go to boarding school. However, the little Holmes has other plans: find out for herself what happened to the most important person in her life.
