Hillbilly Elegy full Next November Netflix plans to release Hillbilly Elegy, a new film directed by Ron Howard Hillbilly Elegy (The Da Vinci Code, Willow, Solo: A Star Wars Story) and based on the autobiographical book of the same name written by J. D. Vance.
In that sense, Hillbilly Elegy or Hillbilly, a rural elegy, as the film will be known in Latin America, will focus on the story of the family of a young man, her mother with addiction problems and her grandmother.
Thus, the synopsis states that in Hillbilly Elegy “J. D. Vance (Gabriel Basso), a former Southern Ohio Marine and current Yale law student, is about to land his dream job when a family crisis forces him to return to the home he has long tried to leave behind. J. D. must navigate the complex dynamics of his Appalachian family, including his volatile relationship with his addicted mother Bev (Amy Adams). Driven by memories of his grandmother (Glenn Close), the strong and cunning woman who raised him, J. D. realizes that in order to achieve his dreams, he must accept his roots. “
