Honest Thief
Honest Thief Liam Neeson has been said to have certain particular abilities. One of them seems to be choosing very bad movies. “Honest Thief,” co-written and directed by Mark Williams, is a loose, predictable film that relies on chilling music, dark settings and smoke to create tension. There is no particular skill here.
Neeson plays that rare creature only Hollywood has discovered: the decent, highly competent, peaceful thief with a heart of gold. He has robbed 12 banks in seven states over eight years – amassing $ 9 million in cash – in what he diplomatically calls “my past indiscretions.” But you haven’t spent a single penny. It’s so good that it even leaves a tip for hotel employees even when they don’t clean your room.
And he falls in love with another virtuous creature: a divorced receptionist at a winery company who was only a few credits short of her psychology degree. Kate Walsh plays her with equal parts spark and guts. She deserves better.
