Waiting for the Barbarians
Waiting for the Barbarians the objective of this appointment with the cinema is to be a meeting point for creators, Waiting for the Barbarians movie producers and distributors from both countries, promoting the projects of young creators and promoting the development of Italian-Spanish co-production.
The festival is opened by actress Rossy de Palma, who will present the film ‘My brother chases dinosaurs’, an Italian production directed by Stefano Cipani in which she shares a cast with Alessandro Gassman and Isabella Ragonese. Rossy de Palma’s close relationship with Italian cinema dates back to the 1990s and in recent years has been stronger than ever thanks to works such as ‘The Threepenny Opera’, by Bertold Brecht, which he performed at the Piccolo Teatro de Milan in 2016, or ‘Resilienza d’amore’, which premiered in 2015 on the same Italian stage and which in August, a few months later than scheduled due to the pandemic, was able to present at the Teatre Principal in Palma. In January of this year she participated, along with actor Sergio Rubini, in the tribute to Fellini that the Teatre Akàdemia in Barcelona programmed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Italian director’s birth. The presence of Rossy de Palma at the Italian-Spanish film festival is one more example of the close relationship that unites the actress with Italy.
On the same day, Monday, October 12, Italian actor Marco Bocci will present his first film as a director, ‘Tor Bella Monaca non piove mai’, translated into Spanish as ‘An Italian family’. The screening also features the presence of its producer, Carlo D’Ursi.
